![]() For better or worse, Blizzard won’t announce Season end dates before then because development delays could change them.Īnd Season 17 ending means that Season 18 is about to begin. We aren’t getting quite as much warning on Season ending dates as we used to as we used to, but CM Nevalistis has told us that we’ll always know at least two weeks in advance - and we had barely more than that for the end of Season 17. That only gives you a couple of days to finish your seasonal goals, so you’d better get to it. ![]() It’s nearly time for the next Season rotation in Diablo 3: Season 17 ends on August 18 at 5pm PDT, i.e. Diablo 3 without the set stat gains becomes a different beast entirely.Update: Season 17 has come to a close, but Season 18 starts on August 23, so more Seasonal excitement is just around the corner. If the power creep gets really out of hand that'd be the only way to reset it that I can think of.Ī Season Without Sets would be an interesting mess, too. It'd knock everyone down a notch without singling out any individual class or build. The flip side would be to have a season where all enemies get buffed, and just call it the Season of Torment or something. So Blizzard opts to go with a little power creep rather than the bad will that a real nerf would bring. If someone spent all season pushing a build as close to perfection as possible and then Blizzard knocked a chunk of that power off, that person would be justifiably pissed. Nerfing the current standout sets gets the same thing accomplished, but it's also sort of a slap in the face to people who took the time to develop those sets. Buffing up lesser used sets its a good way to try to get them in play.
